‘Chen San and Wuniang’ in Multiple Time Dimensions

Couples nowadays shower each other with ostentatious affection, but how did people in ancient times do when they were in a romantic relationship? In the silence of the night, the heroine, Wuniang, yearns for her distant beloved Chen San. Memories of the moments they spent together emerge: admiring lanterns at the festival, casting lychees to him from her painted tower, how Chen San sold himself to pay for the mirror he deliberately broke, love confessions elicited by a dispute over an umbrella, and finally their vows.
