Everyone else is smart. Why am I the only one who’s stupid?

Dr. Guo is an old woman, approaching eighty. Over the course of her long life, she has been a daughter, a student, a worker, a farmer, a soldier, a doctor, a wife, and a mother. Yet somehow, she has never quite felt at home in any of these roles.

Part of That World turns its attention to an ordinary woman living south of Dongting Lake, and to the questions and difficulties that have followed her through the many roles she has taken on. When a new problem arises, will she find a way to deal with it, or will she finally run out of answers? And when another worry takes hold of her mind, what will she do with it?
