Five hosts open five lived-in spaces. Food is not the protagonist—it is simply a way for strangers to sit down, enter one another’s lives, and listen.

Some have never left; some came and later moved away. Some put down roots here, some carried a distant home with them, and some were born here and are still imagining what Shekou might become.

In 2026, Mobile Kitchen enters five lived-in spaces across Shekou. The hosts are not actors, and they are not necessarily chefs. Each encounter takes a different form: a traditional flowing banquet slowed down for conversation, a home-cooked family meal, a gathering among friends, a staff canteen normally closed to the public, or a walk through private memories of the neighbourhood.
